Sad every time i open up a session it has to convert all my files that are being used to 44100 and i end up with loads of copies of them and it takes ages to load, if you know what i mean help me...

is there a way to justsave them at 44100 in the first place so it just loads up??

Use File > Save session as... > and tick the box saying "save copies of all associated files". Click the Options box and tick "Save copies in this format" Using the drop down box, choose "Windows PCM" and click OK. Now before all of that you might want to set up a folder into which the session and the PCM files will be saved, and during the above process, specify that as the location to save in.

That's one way - there are probably several others which may be suggested!

Oh, and you might want to change the title of your thread to something descriptive like "Saving session files" or whatever - that way you might get more replies.

It sounds to me like you are using mp3 files - CE has to convert those to wave format in order to work on them, and if you simply save them without specifying any other format, it will save them back to mp3. And so the cycle repeats itself - but the big downside is, every time it reconverts them to mp3, it's degrading the sound quality a little every time. So that's why saving your work as PCM (wave) format is a much better idea. It takes up more room on your disk but the quality doesn't degrade and they open instantly.

I'm guessing at the scenario, so tell me if I've guessed wrong.

To me, it sounds like your session is set at a 44100 sample rate, but your audio files are not. Everything in a session must be of the same sample rate (that's just the way it works). So, if your session is 44100, but your audio files are of a different sample rate, then they will indeed need to convert (making a copy in the process) every time you open the session.

Using Ozpeter's first suggestion should solve the problem for you. Another way is to open all of the session's audio files in Edit View (without opening the session itself), and converting their sample rates to match the session, and then saving them all. You could also use the Batch File Converter, or scripts to do this all automatically.
