Hi All,
We are planning on emailing Cool Edit users with this letter later this week, but since Adobe has already announced this morning we wanted to post the letter so that you would hear it from us. For those of you who have been wondering: yes, Adobe Audition is a straight re-release of Cool Edit Pro 2.1 with changes only to the branding.

In May 2003, Adobe acquired the technology assets of Syntrillium
Software, including its flagship product, Cool Edit Pro. Adobe is excited about continuing to develop Adobe Audition as the digital audio tool of choice for musicians, audio professionals, and video professionals. Adobe Audition includes all of the mixing, editing, mastering, effects, and analysis tools from Cool Edit Pro 2.1, as well as thousands of royalty-free loops (including many from the Loopology Web site).
