I recently converted my CD collection to MP3, and I noticed that not all of files have the same volumen level. My question is , "how can I use CoolEdit 2K in order to, I guess they call it..., Normalize my MP3s?" My other question is, "what tool can I use within CoolEdit 2K to know the volumen/Dolby level relative to other MP3 files?"
I am a novice and dont have much experience within sound field... Please help me. Any comments will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

There is actually an software program that does just that.... normalize mp3's. I don't use mp3's and can't recall the program name, but it's been mentioned here in the past. Try a search of the archives! Shy

Thanks a lot guys for your input. MP3Gain looks like if it can do the job. I thought that maybe CoolEdit could handle this type of things. Thanks again for your help.

Hi,

I've used MP3 gain in the past, and I have to say that I didn't come up with any satisfactory results... Not to prevent you from trying it ofcourse, but don't get your hopes up just yet.

There's a host of mp3 normalisation utilities available. When you're done browsing the archives here, do a general web search for "mp3 normalise".

It's more reliable in album-based mode than track-based mode.

Cheers,
David.
