When I installed 2.1, I set up two temp folders, one on each hard drive. The temp folder in Windows is working just fine, but I'm having a problem with the one on my D:drive - I can't empty it. I keep getting the same error message: "Cannot delete. Access denied. Make sure that the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use."
Okay, the file isn't currently in use, and the disk isn't full, so that leaves the write-protected option. Any ideas?

Just so it can be ruled out, Cool Edit is closed when you try to delete these files, right ?
And, in Options>Settings>System, is the box checked that says "Delete Clipboard Files On Exit" ?

Hi Dobro,
Are these Cool Edit Temp Files or are they Windows Temp Files?
We usually suggest that you create new folders for use with Cool Edit and its Temp Files so that you know where Cool Edit's Temp files are at all times. This makes it easier also to make sure that the files in that folder do belong to Cool Edit.
Follow the Instructions in the Knowledge Base article below that refer to "Cool Edit and Hard Drive Usage". That should help you in the future if you ever question what Temp files belong to Cool Edit.

Hi. They're Cool Edit temp files. (For example - CEPx28D3 - they all have that CEP prefix.)
It's the folder that CE prompted me to create on the second hard drive when I installed 2.1.
I'm using Win 98 - does that bumf about Win XP apply to 98 as well?

Okay, I just deleted the entire folder. I'll let you know if disaster strikes as a result. I'm confused about why Windows would let me delete the folder with all its contents, but wouldn't let me delete the contents alone.

Hmmmm. I don't know. CoolPro 2.0 gives me strange hassles also, when I try to delete files that it has recently......worked with. But closing CEP usually severs the ties. Strange.
