Hello Folks,
CEP 2.1 is losing the settings for VST plugs I have inserted in the CEP multitrack FX rack in between CEP sessions.
I set up the plugin, save the session, close CEP, start CEP, open the session, and the settings for the VST plugins are reset back to the default, DX plug settings are saved OK. I can also see that the asterisk (*) at the top of the Cool Edit multitrack window doesn't appear meaning that CEP didn't detect any changes to save.
I'm wondering if any Directixer 2.3 on CEP 2.1 users are seing this ?
I don't have this problem on CEP 1.2a (single track mode only) or Sonar 2.2.
Since I'm mastering a stereo 13 track CD project (same thing as playing back 13 stereo tracks in the multi-track, one at a time along with my reference track) I'll have to go over to Sonar but I'll be reading this forum in case I get any bites.
I think we have an interface issue again (by we I mean "I" of course!)
To CEP Support: Can you test this out please and I will be glad to report this issue formally to whomever if you wish. Currently I'm leaning toward CEP 2.1 for reasons explained above.

Just for background - I know this doesn't actually help - I don't have this problem with the full version of the Spinaudio wrapper. Stick with CE and change the wrapper!

Thanks ozpeter.
Yes I searched and saw one of your other posts saying you had good luck with that one. Thank you, I might do that. I seem to have 3 of everything anyway as my software platforms are usually 120 degrees out of phase on defect cycles. Unfortunately they all came in phase the past couple of weeks !
The multi-tracker effect rack where I can set up parallel effects is really good for mastering!

A slow day on the plugins forum ? Here's a cheap bump...
I bought the Spinaudio VST-DX Wrapper Pro 1.0 last night, got my serial number emailed to me while I was at work today. I should have my configuration of CEP (meaning host, DX, VST plugs all work) up and running tonight !
Thanks for the tip ozpeter !:)

CEP 2.1 is crashing using Spinaudio Version 1.0. I'll have to train these guys too when I get the chance to enter a bug report. Till then I'm going to slide off to Sonar for a short time and do some music...

There must be more to this than meets the eye as your system seems unhappy with wrapped VST's regardless of the wrapper. I wonder whether this has anything to do with the version of DirectX you are using? (Wild guess I have to admit). This doesn't appear to be a widespread problem unless I've been missing some posts.

Hi ozpeter,
Thanks for the DX idea. I'll snoop around more isolating this next week I think and report the bug or fix it on my side. Like I said I have more than one of the same type of tool because as soon as CEP goes to 2.2 something else will break ! Not picking on Syntrillium, all of my audio hosts (Sonar, Sound Forge) as well as a number of my plug vendors have inadequate interop testing. They leave it to customers like us, bad companies !@#!
I do software qa for my day gig so I'll stretch out for a couple of days and get back to it next week I think, no big deal !

Just to close this thread...unless someone jumps back in, that's ok too.
I've reported all problems to all vendors as usual, they're all woking on it with the exception of Adobe/Syntrillium who don't support VST activities. The official response to VST problems is we don't support it but ask the users on the forum [who are successfully using VST plugins].
