I don't think that my 'bogus' account is very bogus at all - and I think that too many people know about it anyway! (or at least they think they do...)

Yeah, it's not too difficult to figure out.
Of course, I confessed to my secret identity over a year ago, although, I doubt too many actually remember...

I created my PL alter (long ago) when a rather bizarre thread was running. And yes, I've been around long enough to know the majority of the "regulars" alters!

Although, I would like to know who hal9000 is. He's just a bit too funny and visits much too seldom to not be a jester. Such an odyssey, I mean, oddity.

Heh! Funny thing...
I knew a guy named Paco, once. Darn good engineer, too. Did a lot of live sound reinforcement gigs.
Anyway... Yeah, it might be interesting to know who some of these enigmatic characters are. Actually, I think one of the more interesting ones is "Master Po". I got a real kick out of some of that haiku! And no, they don't seem to show up real often, either, do they?
Makes you wonder if some of these folks really are different entities who just lurk and read, most of the time. I've noticed some comments from a few folks, recently, who indicate that they do just that.
Well.
It's all just speculation at this point, I suppose.
:)
Best... -Jon

Which one... lurk and read, or have alter-names?

Er.... Hmmm.
Well, maybe I wasn't clear - I guess I thought I was.
I do use paragraphs in order to contain various bits of context, and I although I was trying to segue into a different idea there, "lurk and read" was the intended target.
Dredging the archives, are we? This one's over a month old. Or are you getting bored out there in "the Voodio"? Heh! :D

Actually Jon... I understood you perfectly... I was just fool'n. I haven't been spending too much time in the "Voodio" as the Boss doesn't want me too far out of pocket. FWIW, I don't have the Internet on my Voodio computer, only in the house (the Boss's office) which is another reason why I've been spending so much time slum'n the forums!

Ah. So it's;
Slum the forums under her nose, and then;
Escape to the Voodio only when circumstances permit.
Heh-heh!
I see how it is. ;)
My significant other is always asking me (over my shoulder), "Now, you're keeping all of those folks in line on those forums, right...?"
Yeah, right....
Heh! :D

Well, it could be worse... she could be saying, "your spending too much time with them and not enough with me"! And then again, she could say... "Jon.. oh Jon, would you like me to clean and sanitize all your brewing equipment so you can throw a batch together?"

Hmmm.
Well, it seems we've stolen the bottom half of Karl's poll...
Hope he doesn't mind. :blackeye:
Made a hybrid last week - kind of a Porter-meets-Mead recipe. There's five pounds of honey in it, and like the Imperial Klingon Stout, it won't be (really) ready for at least a couple of years - better after about five...

It had grown rather stale, but I believe it would still be reasonable for you to send me a couple bottles of your Imperial Klingon Stout as compensation for your inability to stay on topic.

Klingon Stout, huh? Sounds good. I've made several Honey Brown's, but never a Honey Stout. I'm not a big Mead fan. I still have a bottle of Chaucer's in the beerbox that is a couple of years old. Just alittle too sweet for my taste.

Have you ever had wheat-wine? Back in Arizona, there is a place I used to go to have a quality pint and they brewed this sweet nectar of the gods themselves. Churchhill's Wheatwine I believe it was called. Ooooooooooohhhh was it good! I miss that stuff... Oh well, plenty of good brew up here in the Pacific Northwest. Speaking of which, now that I'm starting to settle in, I need to find a new homebrew supply shop to give my business to. (now all I have to do is somehow convince the Boss to clean and sanitize my brew equipment... )

Any homebrewer knows it would be sheer nirvana to have someone do all the cleaning for you. FWIW, the Boss here doesn't do it either. She has however, (in a pinch) hooked up a "blow off" tube to a primary fermenter in an emergency.

West Seattle Homebrew supply is long gone, but it was a fine store, with some very funny guys running it - I don't know whatever happened to them, or whether they went on to complete their own brewery or not.
There's Evergreen on the east side (in Bellevue - the owner is nice and quite knowledgable). Actually, there are quite a few stores in the area where you can pick up stuff - just have a gander at the yellow pages.
(Er.... Can you tell I used to live there? Heh! )
And yes, Karl, you may have some Klingon Stout.
But as I said, it's going to be a couple of years...
As to Voodoo's probable curiosity, starting gravity on the Klingon stout is 1176...
Woof. :O
Experience has shown it finishes somewhere around the 1060's or so.
(this is not for everyday drinking, kids...)

Sounds good to me. Personally, I brew more high gravity ales than anything. My Grande Cru recipe comes in at 1184 O.G.!! I also have an Old Ale recipe (same one I placed 1st with at the Dixie Cup) that has an O.G. around 1172-4. Yum!!!
As for the Homebrew supplies... have you considered doing any mail-order? There are 2 very large (and reputable) supply shops that I've done ALOT of business with. St. Patrick's of Texas (in Austin) has everything under the sun and... good prices. Again, I've used them alot and have NEVER had any difficulties what-so-ever. The other one is Williams Brewing (in Oregon). They too are top notch!

I don't have to mail-order from here - And I'm sure the name behind "Pro_Support" won't have to, either - after all, Seattle's full of brew-supplies! Lots of places up there for them to get stuff, and help with questions, too.
I am often in the Portland area, so I can just whip on into Steinbart's for just about anything that I might need... There's even a couple decent suppliers in my area. And yes, Williams is good, too - I just never use them anymore.

FWIW, I buy all my ingredients from DeFalco's Homebrew Supply in Houston. They have any and everything. However, Williams and St. Pats often have better deals on select equipment. I don't buy near as much equipment now, as I've been at it for awhile and have most everything I need. Last last expenditure was a Refractometer for measureing Specific Gravity. I got tired of the old Hydrometer!
