Well, it's 1am in the morning here - this can wait until tomorrow, I think... :|

Nevertheless, congratulations on a (hopefully) happy birth!

The midwife has taken the infant away for a few moments to clean it up and fix the diaper.....

I hit the download before the midwife could take her away... Do you think it would be safe to install as such, or should I wait until it's reposted and download it again?

Josh

Hopefully Synt has so many customers that a mail-out would crash the net.....

As for the rapidly-withdrawn version, you'd probably have to email Synt Support for advice.

I thought tomorrow would never come - but here it is!!! False dawn and all!!!

Took 2 min 20 sec to download (boastfully).

But I'm off on holiday in a couple of days & won't get a chance to properly introduce it to my new C-Port until after Easter. Sad

According to Synt, if you have a registered version 2.0, the upgrade is free and won't even require require re-registration.

How ironic that this update would post on a night when I am up late writing a long report that is due for a class tomorrow!

DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW HARD IT IS TO CONCENTRATE ON WRITING WHEN I KNOW THERE IS A NEW CEP UPDATE THAT IS JUST WAITING FOR ME TO TRY IT OUT??????

Who says God doesn't have a sense of humor?!

Oh Lord, let graduation come quickly!

So does this mean they're gonna re-do the "Remix the Theme" contest?!

LOL! I know the feeling all too well! Happy writing, and from the looks of things, 2.1's well worth the wait!

Well...seeing as how Syntrillium say that version 2.1 has a better background mixing algorithm to provide more stable playback, I decided my first official act would be to horribly abuse the new child.

With version 2 on my system, my limit for tracks was about 24, depending on effects used, etc. If I clean booted my PC and had ONLY CEP running, it would just about hang on to playback (System= Win 98/384 meg ram/40 gig 7200 rpm hard drive for .wav data).

Just for fun the first thing I loaded into 2.1 was a "problem" session...and I left lots of other thing running including IE6 browsing this forum and OE6 checking emails for me.

The whole thing ran flawlessly without a glitch...the background mixing bar was rarely less than fully green.

Now, I'd NEVER really work this way, but what a demo of a fundamental improvement! Well done Syntrillium!

2.1? About damn time I'd say. I hereby promise not to ridicule them anymore about how long 2.1 took to come out in relation to the "a" update from 1.2 to 1.2a.

Now off to the download site and then to see what this puppy can really do.

Thanks for all the great praise, everyone!

I just returned from NAB and the press were equally 'impressed' with the 2.1 release.

Keep us posted with your comments!

Happy Recording!
