i guess this is the place to go to really understand the wonderful
world of cool edit ... i guess when i get good enough i will be able to help someone out as you are helping me already.. i appreciate your replies, as it gets quite frustrating- especially when you first get started.
well, here's another issue. i was so pleased with getting to the next level until i entered into the second turn. i have now gotten to my fifth track and when i record using my mpc2000xl, for some reason it wouldn't playback the way it recorded. the timing is fine when i record but when i play the fifth track back, the time was off. what the hell is going on? what settings do i need to correct?
thanks for reading this...

You most likely need to "Optimize" your computer settings. Check out the "Tips and "Tricks" section for optimization tricks. It does help to know alittle about your computer system... type, speed, RAM, H/D's type/size/speed, soundcard, what Operating system, etc....

Tascam's website also has some "optimization" tips. Once you do the most evident things, then it usually is a matter of "playing around" with buffer settings to get things smoothed out. I admittingly don't use 2.0 (yet), but after "optimizing" my PII 450, 512meg RAM, running WIN98fe and CEP 1.2a over 2 years ago.... I have (quickly knocking on nearest wood).... NEVER experienced any problems or glitches. I used my system about 4 days a week for hours on end and have session that contain in excess of 30 tracks. NO PROBLEM!!!
