I use a Spirit Folio SX console with my Delta. I use the pre-fader
direct outs. I've always had trouble getting levels right, I've been an
engineer for 20 yrs, And made a discovery. I set up for recording in
Cakewalk. I applied a multitone test to my console and PFL'd the channel
to o Vu = +4 dBu., the Delta switch set to +4 dBu. The meters on the
delta panel only registered -18 and the same with the meters in
Cakewalk. I than set the switch on the Delta to -10dBV and the meters
more closely matched. What are your thoughts? Is my console actually
-10? Is the Delta out ? Console out of cal? Any help would be
appreciated

From Spirit
Another thought that crosses my mind is that a lot of times the
difference
between Analog type LED meters and Digital meters can be confusing
because
digital meters are actually headroom meters and 0 on a digital meter is
actually +22dB (18 dB over +4). Again, there's that 18 dB difference -
so
putting a +4 signal into a digital device, is going to show up at -18 on
the
device (indicating the 18 dB of remaining headroom).
I'm not sure if this is what's going on with your set-up, but hopefully
this
will give you some things to check out, let me know what you come up
with.
Good Luck,

Hello John
The Delta Panel was designed only to show the amount of head room you
have.
+4dBu is 20 and -10dBV is 16.
