I get Wav files sent to me occassionally and when I double click on them I would like Cooledit to pop open and play it for me. How can I change my settings to make this happen for me?

Simply reinstall Cool Edit to the same directory. When prompted about 'file association' check all the appropriate boxes (namely, .WAV) and continue with the install. Cool Edit will then become the default player for all of the checked file types.

A simpler way would be to highlight a WAV file, hold the shift key and right mouse click on the file. Click the 'open with' option and scroll down to coolpro.exe, highlight that selection and click the 'Always use this program to open this file type' checkbox. Click OK. The file will open in CE and now the file type WAV is associated with CE as the default player/editor.
Hope this helps. (and it's alot quicker than a re-install)
