Record label yes or no..

Hi,
do i need a record label to sell my music on the internet?? if not, what are thay good for, why do artists need them??

You can easily sell your music yourself but a good record label takes some of the hassle out of it - hopefully allowing you more time to concentrate on making music.

Depending on your musical style you could try something like Magnatune. There are probably others that work similar.

I've found a really nice service called "TuneCore" that will get your music set up in the major internet music stores, such as iTunes, AmazonMP3, Napster, Rhapsody ect....they are not that expensive, but offer a convient way to get your music up for sale without a major label backing.
