I have quick question that I'm sure is an solvable with an option somewhere.  How do I not get it to make the "record scratching" noise when I drag the marker point across a wave?  Like if I just want to drag to a certain spot, it's like it tries to play the wave as I'm moving it.  It's VERY loud and annoying.  And I think it does this in MV also.  I'm positive it does it in EV.

Thanks for any info.

WWW

Are you using the scrub tool (the arrow with the speaker, located above the waveform)?  There is an option in the preferences about scrubbing.

Sounds to me as though you have it in 'scrub' mode.  To turn it off, hit the '<' key.  If you want to turn it on again, hit 'shift+<'.

I just played with it for about 10 minutes to try this last night.  I could not get it to stop doing the noise.  I don't know if it's really scrubbing or not.  I know what the scrubbing is.  That actually like slowing down tape speed.  This is more like a bad digital cellphone sound when I go really slow.  If I drag it fast it's like terrible white trash noise.  So, it's really not the scrubbing I think.  Maybe I can try to get a sound recorder and record it.  It also did it on the demo of 2.0 when I tried that way back.  And I remember it NOT doing it on 1.5.  I have just put up with it.  It's just so much louder than the music that I worry about blowing out headphones or eardrums.

Why drag? Just click it to another spot!

You can get different actions by holding the shift, control or alt button whilst scrubbing.
