MV mixdowns that you then insert in MV

When I make a mixdown of two or more clips in MV, Au saves it as the length of the entire session, and not just the length of the clips.  Anybody know a way to make it save just the length of the clips?

Select all your tracks for mixdown, drag your transport cursor over the tracks you require and fine tune the ends by draging the yellow cursor at either end to suit. Anything within the selection will get mixed down to one track. Alternatively bring the whole mixdown into edit view and top and tail/trim it.

I don't know if I'm doing things the way you suggest, but if I use the cursor to highlight the clip(s) I want to mixdown and then choose 'Mixdown to New File>Master Output for selected Range' I get the shorter mixdown file.  I can't have the cursor on the actual clip when I highlight it though, because it won't work (it just drags the whole clip without hightlighting it) - I have to have the cursor over an adjacent track to highlight the clip I want.  I can live with that, I think.

It may depend on what tool you have selected for the cursor. Should be OK with the Hybrid tool selected.
