Here's what I get when I click the sequencer button.

Plus the MIDIHost.dll crashes the program when I referesh effects list .. I had to take it out of the folder to get all the others in and then put it back but it still crashes the program.

Have you tried a complete uninstall/reinstall?  That's definitely not a normal behavior.

If this is the trial version do not uninstall it, else the trial will expire.  Perhaps a repair install would do the trick?

Tried a re-install, the MIDIHost.dll just doesn't want to play ball, always hangs the program and crashes it during Refresh Effects. So the only thing I can do is take it out of the Adobe folder to refresh the rest of my VSTs and then put it back .. or not, if it doesn't need to be in there .. is it just a plugin or does the program need MIDIHost.dll to work at all?

Hmm.  Were you part of the beta program at all?  That MIGHT occur if old settings data persisted.

A quick test would be to wipe out the c:\documents and settings\<username>\application data\adobe\audition\3.0\  folder contents and launch Audition once more.  If that doesn't resolve it, we can look a little deeper.

I got a blank window for the sequencer like that the other day - but no crashes, and exiting and restarting solved the problem.  I didn't pay too much attention at the time, but I have a tiny idea that it was related to VST or VSTi effects.  You could try telling Audition you don't have any effects folders, and see what happens.  Long shot....!

I thought this was quite an amusing idea, so I tried it. I took out any VST folders, and then AA3 proceeds to refresh the DX plugs .. stops at DX: C (not a clue what this refers to) .. and crashes again. Hopeless. I'm going to try AA3 again when I re-install the OS, but until then it's on with my work in AA2.
