Frequently, when I open or import a vbr-encoded mp3 file in Audition 1.5, the end of the file is cut off.  This is not a problem with all vbr files, nor with any cbr files.  There seems to be no way to tell if the problem will occur until the file is actually opened.  I can open the same problematic vbr file in the Nero Wave Editor program without any cut offs, so I'm wondering if there is something I'm doing wrong.

I haven't noticed that problem in 1.5 yet (as I've only had it like 2 days), but one thing I have noticed is that when I open 16bit files (as 32 bit), that AA 1.5 seems to be putting a nasty spike at the beginning of the track...just makes that annoying digital CLICK sound we all know and hate.

Anyway, your problem sounds infinitely harder to deal with...maybe some guys with more (read as ANY) experience with 1.5 can help out.

It seems that Audition doesn't like VBR mp3 that were encoded with Xing.  I have two of these files, and it thinks both have the wrong length: it thinks one is 40 seconds too short and the other is a minute too long.  It is ok opening the one it thinks is too long, but the one that is too short, it does the same as you have experienced and cuts the end off it!

I can't find an input filter for AA based on the LAME codec.  Although it's not very convenient, the only way I can find to open the files correctly is to decode them first with another program, such as LameDrop  & LAME 3.96.1- which put in the same directory will give you drag and drop encoding or decoding Smiley
