WWW

I've been away from this forum for a long time. So forgive my ignorance, but I heard that there is something new that greatly improves phone audio for broadcast using Skype.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

First I should start off by saying I know next to nothing about skype.  But, with that being said, I could see you possibly getting better audio going Skype, to Skype.  Skype could probably send audio at a higher bit-rate than a standard telephone.  But, this would mean both people would have to use Skype, which wouldn't be very functional for a radio station (possibly good for an internet station or someting).

Using Skype in the control room as a phone probably wouldn't do anything.  The Audio would already be dergraded by the limitations of the phone they're calling in on.

If you're talking about using this for cutins or something, it can be done, and I've heard that it can be pretty decent.  Alot cheaper than a Tie Line or Marti etc.

I actually hear there is a pretty good Iphone app that works great for cutins but I've never tired it.

I'll stick to Tie-Line and Marti.  If you got it, use it.  lol
