Maybe you've all seen the blog entries at Adobe and nobody said anything but - Hart Shafer has moved onwards and upwards, and Lawson Hancock has taken over from him.  There's a new Audio Team Blog - "Inside Sound" - at http://blogs.adobe.com/insidesound/ and Hart's blog has changed tack to reflect his new role - see http://blogs.adobe.com/hartshafer/ where he explains the changes.

Personally the contacts I've had with Hart were always friendly and fruitful, and I wish him well in his new role.  And good luck to Lawson Hancock at the helm of the good ship Audition!

I checked out some of Lawson's music at Myspace - it's good stuff.  I think that bodes well for people like me who want Audition to be a music-making program.  I wonder if it also suggests the direction that Audition is going to take now.

Thanks for the links, Oz.

I doubt it - that would be a corporate decision based on sales. And the vast majority of those are to broadcasters...

Yebbut.......  I've been quite quiet in the last few weeks dealing with some broadcasters and trying to help them get up and running. They have been "sold" Audacity and don't like it. All the station's contributors I've spoken to have used some version of CE or Audition and lobbied strongly for it, but without exception they loved and wanted a simpler, older version.

Same old story from yet another batch of people wanting a good straightforward editor/recorder. I just showed them how to use workspaces to make AA 3.0 look simpler.

Maybe the reorganisation will help the lobby for simplicity.

WWW

Lawson is a great guy, and Audition is in great hands.  I can tell you this first hand.
