1) Some users have reported that recording problems in multitrack view can occur if the leftmost transport "play" button is set to "Play entire file" (right click on the button to set it). Try setting it to another option.
2) Another user reported that Audition freezes up after a few minutes of recording (at random times). Her solution was "I changed the position of the slider on the Display Properties|Advanced|Troubleshooting tab [in Windows], and all is fixed. I moved it from extreme right over one notch to the left. I can even have Live Update during Record enabled now, and everything works great."
