I've attach one of my first recordings using my new equipment. This is a hip hop artist I know. I have 2 mixing projects working on now so I'll post those when I'm done as well for critique. Don't worry about my feelings you all can take the gloves off with me. I look forward to your comments.

Overall it sounds pretty good, especially the vocals. My main complaint is that the bass is not nearly as prominent as it should be. It sounds as though it's in the background, and it shouldn't be, especially for Hip Hop. Did you add reverb to the bass? I'd bring up the levels of the bass drum and bass.  You can do this in a number of ways of course (eq, (multiband) compression, simple amplification, etc.)

I like the reverb you have on the strings. I want to hear more of the strings though, so perhaps a boost at the higher frequencies (for the strings track) would improve things.

I agree that the bass and drums need to be louder.  Also the strings and synth arpeggio need to be louder.  You could get a lot done at once by just lowering the level of the vocals in comparison to the other sounds.

Overall I like the song and the style (except for the N-word).  Put your brain on THAT  afro hahahaha.

Vocals sound nice and smooth.  I agree with the others here; crank up the bass and the kick so it can really BUMP.
