Hi there guys its been a while since I last posted.
I do visit alot and read the forum alot however.
I have been getting alot of latency while recording on audition 2.0
FOr anyone that has the Echo Layla if you go to the Layla Console and click of the GSIF.. what buffer size do you use and what exactly does this do? Initially I had it set on 128 samples then i moved it to 2,048 samples.
Not if if it made any sort of differnce I am still experiencing latency issues.

Any solution?

Do you guys also notice that anytime you record or bring in audio from another source..the volume drops when brought into audition? Is that normal? NOt a big difference but enough to make me not at ease.

thanks

I'm pretty sure GSIF only relates to Tascam's GigaStudio.  If you're using the ASIO drivers through Audition the GSIF setting shouldn't effect you at all.  The ASIO buffer sizes will though!

Shumaun, you can update to driver version 6.14 but however, what are you using GSIF for, there's no real reason to do this. Use the ASIO PCI drivers and you won't have any problems. I've been using the 3G drivers since Audition 2 came out and updated to 6.14 with no problems. Goes like a clock. My buffer is 512 for Audition but when I record with Sonar 5 for keyboards, it's NIL, 0%

Just curious..when recording synths and keys etc.. I go directly into the high z inputs in the front of the Layla 3g from the keyboard.
It doesnt seem as clear as what I hear from my monitors while tracking.. while its not bad.

I just wish the sound came out as clear as what i hear when tracking.. it seems not as crisp as what is going in. Is this normal?
Thanks for responding to my last post  Aim Day Co.

We both are using the same sound card, so maybe this is more directed at you.

thanks a bunch

I have an old Yamaha V50, 80's or thereabouts but I use Sonar to put my boards via ReWire from Reason. The quality is 100% but if I plug my sounds straight from the boards, they're not great. That's one reason I went the route I have but I don't really know WHY the quality isn't there. Maybe it's because it's an audio signal where the former is converted MIDI so possibly crisper sounding.
