This is a new one on me. AA 2 has been working fine for me (as far as it goes) for the last few months. Today I need to feed output digitally to a DAT recorder. Go to Edit Menu/Audio Hardware Setup and as soon as I click on it AA hangs and I have to invoke the "Programme not responding. End now" dialogue to shut it down. It is playing back audio OK with my default settings for analogue output if I don't try to change anything. Tried rebooting both software and computer and it still happens.

Anyone seen this before or have a cure? I am going to have to revert back to AA 1.5 and MME drivers to get this job completed in time.

I think that this must be hardware-dependent - I regularly send a S/PDIF feed out of the  Traveler with no difficulty at all, using the ASIO feed to it. Is this with a regular driver, or does the same thing happen with ASIO4ALL?

It has worked OK before. The last time I used it must have been about last October. Anyway I am using AA 1.5 at the moment to finish.

When this project is finished I am ditching my Digi 002 (Digidesign drivers have always been a bodge with non Digidesign software) and moving to a MOTU 828 MkII. We have another MOTU working on a newer system and it seems to be much better integrated with Audition once you have sorted out the Win XP SP2 Firewire driver problems.

Television viewers in the UK may have seen the side of my head for a few seconds working with Audition on various of the BBC and ITV news progs today in an item about the British Film Institute. smiley
