First, hi to everyone. I am very glad that I found this forum, I have found a lot useful information and I hope you guys can help me with my problem.
Let’s say I have multitrack session opened, recording a song. I have music in 1st track, vocal in 2nd and back vocals 3rd & 4th. Now, I have set-up mastering rack with basic what I use for vocal’s. I highlighted vocal in 2nd track and jumped to edit mode. Then I applied my mastering rack. But now, when I jumped pack to Multitrack view the vocal was gone cry . Now I have to take it again from the left box and drag & fit to the place it should be. I hope you understand what I mean…. English is not my mother tongue rolleyes .

Can't quite follow what happened, but in multitrack view you've got the non-destructive effects available - unless you cannot do it any other way, I wouldn't use the destructive effects in edit view.

WWW

The beauty of the multitrack is that you can apply your effects to each track without changing the original WAV file.  Take the effects you use in the "Mastering Rack" and add them to the effects section of the mixer in multitrack view.  You'll get the same results in the end, but you can tweak the settings at will.

Exactly as the others have said.  My normal way of working is to use the various effects in multitrack in non destructive mode, applying them as required to each track separately (or creating a bus if I want to apply the same effect to multiple tracks).  When I'm happy I create a mix down, THEN I use the mastering rack in Edit view to tweak the final result.

I like to use the mastering rack in edit view a lot, when doing things like shaping a one note sample to be used as a synth note. For jobs like this it is extremely useful to be able to pile on different effects and alter them all when i need to, but i still want to finally save it to the wav. i then use the wav in the multitrack as a note to build riffs out of...
anyway...
if the file is already in the multitrack, every now and then when you use the mastering rack in edit, the file disappears from the session although the track itself and it's settings stay the same. the file is just missing from the session.
this is a pain but i haven't been able to figure out what causes it, so i figure it's just a glitch. if anyone did have any ideas on how to solve this, it'd be much appreciated.

by the way, i've been reading this site regularly for the last couple of months, and the amount i've learnt is pretty incredible,
so cheers for sharing all of your expertise and experience. Cheesy

Can anyone reproduce this as a bug?  Can you get it to disappear from MV by following specific steps in EV?

So far it seems to be pretty random... i'll have a play and see if there's anything that seems to provoke it.

I've done some playing and i cannot see anything which triggers this behaviour, sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. It's becoming a complete pain, and is my only real issue with audition 2. it's a shame that something this stupid happens.
