Extract audio from cd

Hi there
I used to have no problem extracting audio from cds. The tracks appeared in the box within the extract part of the menu, and Id select and off i went. But now something must have changed as this no longer works. The cd doesnt spin up. No extraction is possible.
Can anyone point me in the direction of what I should be checking. The cd drive is ok as I can open files and burn to it ok with Nero.

Has nothing to do with that at all - you should read this FAQ on the Adobe site, and follow all the links - I think that this pretty much covers all the bases.

I have a workaround - Batch file convert which works just fine.

the user is a bot, i believe.  Whats odd is that it doesnt advertise anything in its signature, something that bots usually do.

Could well be - and it does advertise - try clicking on the smiley. I'm only going to leave these posts here a little while, and get rid of them. And the bot has lost its membership...

I thought that this was common knowledge - so I've removed all of the links!

Fortunately most people don't ever get a mouse anywhere near a smiley, and if they do, they wouldn't notice what the effect was anyway.

Good Show! I was amazed at the lengths people would go to get advertising and how they even thought of it. In a million years I wouldn't have even come up with that idea but I'm glad I know how it's done.

I have a problem with windows xp not refreshing the cd contents in windows explorer, I've tried eject and refresh but nothing works.
Does anybody know if there is a fix for this on the internet.
(auto insert notification is on by the way).

So it hasn't improved any in WinXP? So unpleasant. I would guess Auto Insert Notification has nothing to do with it since I never have that turned on. I suppose my preferences might work on XP and yours on Win98, but that is a very long shot.

SOMETIMES, if I right click and choose Explore, which opens a new window, it will get the current disk contents.

Preferring Windows Commander, I rarely use Explorer.  However, I just tried this and it works for me (F5 to re-read the source).

Sometimes it works. Sometimes I can get the new content in the right hand pane but the left hand tree will not refresh. Too often nothing short of rebooting works.
