need help with input
ok so i have my levels assigned so that i can see them when i record...but for some reason there is a faint echo in the background....when i set the levels to external opposed to how i have it being audition mix...there is no echo...i dont understand why this is like this

Welcome to the forum.
What soundcard are you using? It sounds like you may be getting a bit of bleed from other tracks as well.

This ssunds to me as though you have a monitoring problem. You are hearing both the direct sound and the sound after it has passed through the electronics (the delay being a function of the latency of the the latter). I think you need to check your monitoring path to ensure you are not listening to two signals from different points.

im using the edirol ua-1ex...i have it connected from my mixer directly to the input of the edirol..i dont think its a bleed b/c when i switch it to external monorting you dont hear it...when i switch it to smart input or always input you hear it...what can it be??

If you are using Audition's monitoring you have to make sure that any external monitoring of the input is turned off in your soundcard. It sounds like you are hearing both.
