Is this the Winamp plugin? And can you describe what you're doing when you get this problem.

The Sound Solution plug-in is a resource nightmare. Unless you have lots of RAM to go around, it will slow your computer down and cause imperfections in sound including intermittent clipping or crackling. I had this same problem when I first installed it on my machine. Here are some things you might try:

1. Make sure you have the latest drivers downloaded for your soundcard.
2. Make sure you are running the latest version of Sound Solution.
3. Adjust the settings to see if you can make it stop destroying audio quality.
4. If you have more than one soundcard, make sure that it is using the higher end soundcard for playback.

Outside of that, I have no other solution to your issue. I un-installed it from my PC in favor of doing all of my processing through my mixer. I flattened out the EQ in WinAmp and adjusted the lows, mids and highs externally with no loss in sound quality. In fact, I would go so far as to say that my sound quality has improved by external EQing.
