Well we finished our sessions and have a total of five songs posted on her above website that were recorded with AA 2.0.

Of course we haven't had time to get into a high quality finish mix yet, but they sound pretty good for a week-end's worth of work. AA 2.0 was a dream to work with and will also be good for final mixing.....so I am VERY IMPRESSED with the program.

Tonight I hooked up a second monitor and am having fun moving screens around from one monitor to the other. The program gives me great flexability on whatever type of set up I want or need.

The new mixer worked out perfectly for us, as we needed to add some eq, and reverb to a few sections. The Automation Lanes came in very handy. So even though I'm still new to the program, I was able to utilize these features, without any problem.

The whole week-end session was great practice for me, and I became very familiar with many things, so I'd definitely recommend it for anyone. Of course our week-end session spilled over to a 5 day session, but it was fun and we both did indeed make progress.

I assume that means you would recommend AA 2.0 to anyone?  But would you recommend it to everyone?  That is, would you recommend AA 2.0 even to those whose workflow depends upon AA features that you do not use and therefore have no experience with (or at least seriously limited experience with)?

Maybe I misworded it, I'd recommend doing a week-end session that turns into a 5 day session.  Once you get that experience under your belt, and you become familiar with the program, the program is a dream to use.

universally it isn't (dream to use)

I wouldn't designate my 'week-end into [six] day' session as 'nightmare', but I'd certainly tend to suspect the judgement of anyone that characterized it as a 'dream'

they'd be far to masochistic for my general biz sense

Well, to quote Steve, AA 2.0 is a new product more so than an upgrade, and after using it for my session, and becoming familiar with it, all it's settings, workflow ect... it was a pleasure to work with. Everything I needed was there or easy to find. The recording quality was more than acceptable, and we didn't have any major problems like I've experienced with other software programs. 2.0 was easy to use, and became second nature to after just a little while. Being able to jump between the various screens was extremely helpful, and allowed me to get tons of things accomplished in a reasonable amount of time.

I see a lot of negativity on the this forum, and it really surprises me. You guys really haven't spent much time with the new mixer obviously, as it's a huge improvement over the mixer in 1.5.

For the $129 cost of the upgrade, it amazes me that you guys are even bothering to sqwack about it.... That's dirt cheap for what you get !!!! Go out and buy some recording hardware sometime, and then you'll have something to whine about. Just wait till you price out a hardware mixer with automation ...hahahahahaha......you wanna talk about nightmares ?? Let's see, for 24 track recording you'll need three DA-88's and a sync card.....good luck !!!

You can always buy a PT rig, what are they going for now days Huh

You should be thanking Adobe. You guys are saying the early versions of CEP we're better Huh hahahahaha .....and you're professionals ??

1.5 doesn't even have track meters !!!!

How many of the other programs out there have dedicated edit screens ?? Can you access them with one mouse click ??

I'm happy to tell you dudes this, this program rocks !!!

Im glad you like 2.0 so much, but it does not "rock" for what I expected it to do.

How long will this conversation continue to loop?

How much bandwidth will be devoted to djwayne saying over and over how "happy" he is?

How many times will people patiently explain the same points to him over and over, only to be met with the same pointless responses?

How long until the polar ice caps melt, altering life on the planet forever?

Who invented liquid soap and why?

These, and other questions, to be pondered on this chilly Friday...

How much bandwidth has to be wasted on people who don't like the software. If you don't like it, then go by that PT rig for 20 grand.....I won't mind. Peter Gabriel will be happy to sell you a brand new SSL board......

Geez dudes we're only talking about a measley $129 upgrade, you expect the fricking moon Huh? cheesy

Stop complaining about djwayne's enthusiasm or someone may want to 'delete your head'  evil See http://audiomastersforum.net/amforum/viewtopic.php?t=4883

I have an impression that parts of these forum have turned into djwayne's private blog entitled 'I am soooo excited'. However, I wouldn't dare criticizing that. Now.

May I point out a tiny difference? People who report problems with the software may hope to be offered solutions or workarounds to these problems by other forum members. Another forum members can use these solutions, or are warned about possible problems.  My tiny brain does not allow me to see what is gained thanks to repatedly repeating the repeated repeat that someone is so happy about the program. Or a monitor.

Stop complaining about djwayne's enthusiasm ...

I'm not sure anyone is complaining about his enthusiasm (and the enthusiasm is actually useful when supplied in it's appropriate context).  I think it is his repeatedly showing up in threads where folks are trying to talk through their particular problems that is irritating.  When folks are trying to think through a problem with a funtion that djwayne doesn't use, and he blithely shows up and states "no problem here" (primarily because he doesn't use the function being discussed), how is his comment helpful or useful to the discussion at hand?

I'd rather give folks the benefit of the doubt.  But I'm beginning to think that djwayne is intentionally trying to be irritating.

You guys are the one's who are irratating and ridiculous. Do your homework, learn how to use the program, and then come back and post. The program does indeed work, and works well. No it's not 1.5 with a few minor changes, it's a whole new re-build. Is it 100% perfect ?? No, but what software program is ??

Sorry, don't agree. I think that he's intentionally trying to be enthusiastic, in an attempt to counter what he sees as a lot of negativity. And I can't altogether blame him for that...

Now, as far as both camps are concerned, I think we've got the point, and more importantly, so has Adobe. So from here, can we please stick with trying to resolve the issues that arise in a factual, rather than a subjective manner?
