Good Lord Ben, I don't understand your question. First of all, what does "messin' with a sterio plug in" mean? A problem well stated is half solved. Maybe you can crystalize the question into just one or two sentences.

Hello Ben...Everyone here is only trying to help.
The confusion probably arose because even *I* am not certain what you mean by the Stereo PlugIn...?? You talk about your tracks sounding perfect played separately but too bassy when played together? Well, on the surface this sounds like a problem with EQ...Whenever you mix two unlike sounds together, you've got to account for the fact that one or both tracks are probably sharing like-frequencies...This is just one of the reasons that you would then turn to an EQ and try and cut/boost appropriately to remedy the problem. You might also consider panning the tracks to free up some of the center of your mix...
Without any real specifics, it's hard to say. But allow me to say this: those who frequent this forum are genuinely here to help, and do so simply because they want to; it's hard to offer advice when one is uncertain of the problem; so please take this into consideration when posting.
Happy recording.

In other words, try to be more articulate.

I'm not 100%, but I think ben's talking about the Studio plugin for CE2000 - though he did say Sterio twice...
Ignore this, Ben if i'm barking up the wrong tree.
"for some reason i record and play back both and it just has alot of bass"
I gather you're recording your own vocals... & you must be listening to the "Intrumental" track while you're recording into CE2000.
OK... I don't mean to patronise, but are you monitoring the instrumental on your monitors / speakers whilst you're recording your vocals?

Right...
Ben, does the instrumental sound fine on it's own?
When you record your vocals - and listen to the vocal track on it's own - does it sound distorted & messed up?
Or is it JUST a problem with mixing two waveforms at the same time?

OK - just checked your first mail
you say they sound fine on their own.
have you made sure the mixed waves aren't clipping? Check the master gain, lower it - or decrease the volume of both the vocal & instrumental track.

Okay, so it's the studio plugin. Now, you want to find out a bit more about setting the individual levels for each track, I suspect.
Have you looked at the tutorial about the studio plugin? You can download it directly from http://support.syntrillium.com/tutorials/studover.exe
If this doesn't help, then come back and tell us how you got on. Even if you've been through it once, go through it again. It might help a few people (including Synt!) from blowin' a fuse.
Steve
