I'm looking to buy Cool Edit, but was wondering how it handled changing the tempo of vocals without changing the pitch.
I have a Boss SP-303 sampler and it's tempo changing capability is less than adequate.
I want to edit the sample than load it back to the sampler.
Thanks in advance for the help.

I think you'll find CE as good as most and better than many in this area.
However, if you try and push it too far, then you will be disappointed with the results.

I find that generally the farthest you can stretch a vocal is +/- 5% before the artifacts become annoying. That being said, I've gotten it over 12% on occasion without artifacts (but that is the exception).
