I found the coolest 3d effect plugins at:
http://www.qsound.com/pro/qtax.asp and, http://www.spinaudio.com/
When used in conjunction with each other these will create a "true" 3D effect.

OK!
I agree that from the respective websites - these plug-ins seem to be supercool!

And indeed, I went ahead and purchased the spinaudio bundle. But I lack any kind of manual to use it... For instance, in CEP1.2a (my version), all the Transform/directX commands seem to work only on one highlighted waveform at a time (these functions don't appear in the multitrack mode), and of course, with the 3D panning studio feature, you really want to access all the tracks that you want to position.

Most greatful for any feedback!
Cheers,
Peter

Can you please

Hello Peter. All effects transforms in Cool Edit (whether internal or DirectX) all run in Edit View mode. Cool Edit does not offer real time effects, and that's why you don't see them in Multitrack. To add an effect to a track, you must bring it into Edit View and 'process' the file with the desired transform.

Anything that operates in "real time" is rather just exactly what it sounds like... It works in the same time context of whatever it is applied to, in this case, an effect on a soundfile. Another example which might help you understand this is copying a tape - if you don't use a high-speed dubbing deck to make a copy, you're doing it in "real time".

Make any sense?

All the best... -Jon
