First time ever gettting message that system is not configutred to run Cool Edit. Please run setup again. What should I do? Can't afford to lose my sound files? Dave

Hello Dave. There could be a number of reasons why this has occurred. However, regardless of whether you uninstall and reinstall the software or not (though, that's probably what's needed) you will not lose any audio that you've created...Cool Edit will only remove what was installed with it, and not anything you've created.
Of course, if you do uninstall and go as far as manually removing the Cool2000 (or Coolpro) folder, be sure and remove any audio that you made BEFORE placing the folder in the recycle bin.
So, which OS are you running? Win2k? Win98? Let us know...or, feel free to email and include all of your system information.

I'll chime in and recommend that one never place sound files in the coolpro folder or any of it's sub folders. I even keep my FFT and script files in a totally seperate folder away from cool.
