Dude/Dudette, go the the Cool Edit software forum main page and enter "mastering" into the Search For box. You'll get plenty of info there.

Gremboid, did you find what you were looking for? Essentially, Cool Edit Pro has all of the basic tools you need (with the exception of a dedicated, multi-band limiter, though it is possible to achieve this other ways).

If you have specific questions about how to go about mastering your audio for CD, here's an FAQ that might shed some light on the subject for you...

Graeme, what does the M in RTFM stand for? (This definitely can't be found in the FAX.)

Uh-oh, got it. (I was thinking something like Read The FAQs Meathead. Same general idea.)

Vicki, "FAQs" not "FAX". They sound the same, but are really different things. Or are you just trying to save a keystroke?? Smile

No, my brain misfired. Not a sign of irredeemable stupidity. I hope. Do you have any idea how many acronyms I've learned in the last 11 months? (And that's Vicky with a y.) :-)
