I just can't seem to find the right way to make sure that the time display in Multitrack view is in sync with the Edit waveform view. I sometimes need to shift some thing in a single wave and sometimes (not always- that's the weird thing) the edit wave view is not lined up with multitrack. I always use bars and beats display format.

Hello Jim. I opened several sessions, where waveblocks began at both the beginning and middle of the session (ie, the 'start' of the waveblock actually began somewhere around 1:35 vs. 0:00) and the time scale between edit view and MT view was the same. I can't imagine why they would register differently unless perhaps you were at different level zooms and perhaps 'visually' the time seemed off...
Are we talking about a few beats here, or is it a massive difference? If so, it may be that you need a reinstall. Try and give us a little more info.

Sup Jim,
I think I know what you're talking about. This problem normally occurs after you've recorded a few things in a new session. Here's the work-around for it:
1) Click on the wave block while in the multi-track view. Make sure that it is on an exact beat (ie: 5:1.00).
2) Switch to the Wave Edit View and open up the Edit Tempo window (Edit/Edit Tempo).
3) Under the "Offset" section, type in the correct beat (5:1.00). You might notice that the "Song Start" box will show a number that is other than "0". Now type in the correct Tempo, and you'll see the "Song Start" box show "0".
4) Now click 'OK', and your time in the Edit View will match up with the time in Multi-Track view.
Hope this helps...
Peace,

Synt, I really can't figure this out. The session I had the problem with seems to have straightened out after re-opening the next day. The multi track view is always correct, but sometimes the edit waveform is off. I will try to recreate and see if I can find out when it happens. CE is so cool that i really can't complain about an intermittent problem like this.

Hey Jim...Hmm, well, I'm at least glad to hear that the problem seems to have resolved itself. Should you encounter any further problems, email us or simply re-post here and let us know. Do you have updated drivers for your video card? (just a thought)
