Perhaps the monitoring speakers you are using on the computer are not as good as those on your CD player?

I can think of two obvious possibilities here;

1 - You have a poor monitoring system connected to the computer. You have mixed, using this as a reference, and when played on another system, the balance is totally different. If you are using 'computer monitor' loudpeakers, there is no way you will get a decent mix. You will have to upgrade the monitors.

2 - You have some internal effect turned on in the soundcard - parhaps one of the EAX effects. Again, what you are using as a reference does not represent the real world and it will sound 'wrong' when played on something else.
