Hi guys,
I have a live recording and I have the following problems:
1)I'd like to decrease a little bit the sound of the audience and increase the volume of the singer.
2)I'd like to reduce the volume of the bass player and increase the volume of the guitarist.
I got cool edit pro v. 2.0
Thanks for the help!!

Since this is already a 'mixed' track - in the broadest sense of the term - there's not too much you can do about changing the balance. To do the sort of thing you are talking about really requires access to individually recorded tracks of the various elements you want to change.
You might be able to make a marginal improvement using multiband compression techniques, but so much depends on the original recording that it's impossible to know if there's anything to be gained.
Alternatively, judicious (and minimal) use of parametric equalisation could bring some minor benefit - but it's more often a case of what you gain on the swings, you'll lose on the roundabouts.

If it's a stereo "live" mix, (not individual tracks) then your gonna have your work cut out for you. You can try some judicial use of the parametric E.Q., but must understand that the same frequencies that you might cut (or boost) to lessen (or enhance) on one instrument is also shared by just about every other instrument in the mix. Good Luck!
