As some of you may know, Cakewalk recently took over fXpansion's VST Wrapper. They provided an upgrade to registered users, v4.3. Unfortunately, this has a bug when used within Cool Edit, causing CE to shut down when a VST app is closed. Today I noticed that they have provided a patch (V4.3.1) to remedy this problem. As they have not sent a notification about this, I thought I would let those of you who this applies to know. I have installed the patch and now everything is working perfectly again.

Thanks mahana. That's a wrapper I use a lot and was sorry to see it didn't work in CEP for a while...

Hi kylen,
I'm glad my post may have sped up your continued use of the Wrapper.
I don't write to this forum very often. The folks at Syntrillium have always addressed any problems quickly and effectively with direct contact. The communication has always been first rate and I value this.
I purchased the VST Wrapper when I upgraded TC Native Bundle V2(Direct X), to V3 which changed to VST only. I note that the new version 4.3.1, is supposed to be optimised for the UAD1...
Anyway, although I don't write often, I do read with interest the messages in this forum from you and all the other familiar names.
I for one feel that the partnership with ADOBE promises well, and when the time comes, that will be the main site I visit. I hope you and some of your on-line friends will continue to help new users of Audition.
Kind regards,
aomahana

Slightly off topic, but if you ever get the chance to try it, the TC Native compressor is really good. I played with one over the course of a couple of months, and at higher compression ratios I really liked it. I had it on one female voice where it just kicked.

Yes Craig,
The TC Works single band compressor is very good.
When I want a more coloured sound though, my favourite is the PSP Vintage Warmer.
You should also check out Waves Masters Bundle. Although expensive, the EQ and L2 are stunning. It also includes a multi band compressor which with the TC and PSP provides an interesting range of compression types.

Yesterday, I was just studying the LinMB (from afar)
http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/aug02/articles/plugin0802.asp
Automatic threshold, Automatic release, automatic gain makeup, Range (maximum amt of comression to be applied no matter what) are only a couple of the features I don't have ! Out of the range of my short term budget though...:(

ps mahana - I think many folks will be hopping around on both Adobe and radiokenny audiomasters. See you out there ! Keep on posting that cool stuff - get people thinking good thoughts about engineering and music and communication, whatever the medium !
