Hi all?
Well first off, I have 0 experience with Cool Edit and with Mixing/Mastering. I have been browsing through this forum for a while trying to get a grasp of things but still have a few questions in mind: EQ'ing and Compression in particular.
Like noted above, I'm VERY new at this so any help is appreciated. What I would like to know is what is the difference between the two EQ types (Para. and Graphic) and what would you generally change to better the vocals. Same question with compression. If you have presets I can use for reference, please let me know.
Anywhoo,
I am currently working with HipHop vocals. Here is my setup:
1. AT 3035
2. Delta 44
3. Studio Headphones
4. Cool Edit 2.0
5. Sony Vaio (2.53 Ghz, 120 Gigs, 512 Ram)
Now, the actual accapella comes out fairly decent and crisp but have no idea on what to do afterwards as far as editing/mixing/mastering. What would the proper steps be? (Noise reduction, EQ, Compression?)
I know this is a lot to ask, but if you can point me to the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
