Can anyone recommend a video capture/playback card that works with CEP 2, so that I can view the video within CEP as well as on a TV set? TVs video playback MUST be smooth!

I have a Pinnacle DV500, which captures and plays back DV .AVI files. The problem is that CEP 2 does not recognize the DV500 drivers, so when you attempt to import files that you have captured with the DV500 CEP say’s it can’t import the files.

I managed to get Windows 98 to default to the Microsoft DV software codec for playback of the DV500 captured files, which then enabled CEP to import the video. Now that CEP can import the DV500 files, when I play back the video it does not use the DV500’s composite video out.

So I bought a Matrox G550, and set up the secondary VGA to output composite video. I dragged the CEP video window onto this secondary output. When I play back the video with CEP, the Matrox card does not refresh correctly, causing the video to drop frames. This is no good if you are doing lips sync!

So I bought an external VGA to composite video converter to do the job of the Matrox. Now I get a combing effect because of the fields in the video. So I de-interlaced the video, but now the picture bands/tears (especially on picture that move vertically).

So what I am basically asking:

Is there a video playback card, with a composite video output, that will work with CEP?

OH! Has anyone else noticed the sync loss over time between video and audio? Maybe it's just me? I have a Delta 66 and that should be rock solid.
