The actual conversion of the file is a no brainer. My question is application.
I have a presentation...a sales demonstration, using Swish. Swish is the poor man's Flash. With in swish I can call an audio file (mp3)
I have recorded a narration using CEP2. Saved it as a wav file. Now I want to convert it to an mp3 and make it streaming because of the size.
Does anyone have a chart for the acceptable sampling rate for MP3
I don't need stereo AND I need to be able to caiter to 56k dialup. Basically, I need to know the MP3 parameters to same to file as.
Thanks
Don

I think that on most indie artist mp3 sites (mp3.com.au etc.) the streaming quality is 32kbps. I'm not sure if this will help you out. However, I stream off these sites quite frequently using a 56k modem and it works a treat... sounds like ass though ]:}

Since you don't need stereo, converting to mono will automatically half your original file size, and half the size of any streaming file. This is a good thing as you now don't have to compress that hard.
While I can't offer you an exact number, I would suggest going at this through trial and error. Shouldn't take that long to find the optimum compression bit rate.

I didn't try searching for 'swish' but 'flash' brought up a few previous threads including this one which might be relevant. See what else you can find yourself, maybe.
