Hey guys.
I'm looking to upgrade my system. I currently have an Echo Mia card, and am looking to work my rig up to 8 inputs. I would "like" to add another soundcard with a breakout box to accomplish this, however after searching through past threads, many people are voicing sync issues. So, I ask for your advice. Should I buy an additional soundcard with 6 inputs? Or scratch the Mia card and purchase a card with 8 inputs? Or do I have another option? Question I am not stuck on 8 inputs. Just using it as an example. Just don't want to spend over 300 bucks.
Thanks Guys!

No point in scratching the Mia - it will live quite happily with another card. But it must be said that your budget is pretty tight here. If you look around, you might find a deal on either an M-audio Delta 1010LT (all the others in the range, with the breakout boxes, cost rather more) or a Terratec EWS88MT. Both of these should be available at the right sort of price. Well, more or less...

And of course if you use the S/PDIF output from either card, you can also sync the Mia to it, which would effectively give you 10 analog inputs.

But unless you can get some sort of a stonking deal from somebody, your choice of multi-input soundcards is pretty limited within your price range - it's not impossible, though.

As SteveG has said - the budget is tight - but you could probably find a C-Port for not too much over $300, if you shop around a bit.

Just another alternative to consider Smile.
