I am using the Cooedit 2.0 but I called the tech suppport which told me to delete the directx.xfm file which did get the cooledit pro to load up, but now i have no directx pluggins that work. the pluggins work with wavelab but only do not work with cooledit 2.0. Does anyone have any ideas!

Why did support tell you to delete that file. I heard of no such thing. Did you ask them why? Because, There are bugs with CEP2. And are you saying that the program didn't load at all before you deleted this file? If thats the case its not your plugins. CEP2 was crashing on my system at scanning efx. It didn't have anything to do with my plugs, (and I wasn't told to delete anything from CEP2)but rather the number of inputs CEP2 was seeing, it was crashing the program because it couldn't handle all the inputs. Now to get around it I have to disable my WDM/KS Driver when I want to use CEP2. CEP2 is the only audio program I have on my computer which I have to do this for and I have quite a few. You should call Ron Day in support at ext 319. He is aware of this problem and said Syntrillium is working on a fix. It sounds very similiar to my problem. I think it may also have to do with the number of i/o a particular soundcard has.
Good Luck

Keyman:
I had similar problems with Cep1.2a and 2.0 and Waves plugins. I replaced the file msvcrt.dll located in the program folder. Download a newer version of the .dll-file at:
http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvcrt
Good luck!
Patrik.

Keyman,
I'd be careful with .dll's. Are you even using Waves plugins? Also if your plugs work elsewhere then its not your plugs, its CEP!

Yes there seem to be a CEP issue. But replacing the msvcrt.dll will solve the problem. Se following topic:

I realize that you have already contacted Support, but.... being as today is a Synt Support workday, I would get back in contact with them and let them sort it out.
