Hello,
I am trying to create a jingle for my radio show. It is not am original idea, I want to create the sound of someone scanning through the frequency with random bits of songs, voices etc coming up then passing by. I would like to be able to use the clips that I want. Is it possible to do this in Cooledit?
Thanks in advance

That's precisely the kind of thing that CEP is intended for. Of course you can!

He's carrying a soldering iron!" and started laughing, and everybody else started laughing, I could just say, "That's right, it's a soldering iron. The soldering iron of justice." Then everybody would get real quiet and ashamed, because they had made fun of the soldering iron of justice, and I could probably hit them up for a free drink. |

The best way to do this is to record a radio tuning across the band - whizzing through a few stations - and then quickly fade in (don't cut) the clips that you want at different points, taking care to get them sounding as though they've come from the same radio - filters can help help here. Also, iZotope do a free plugin called Vinyl, which can help the 'natural' effect quite a bit - you don't have to use the obvious record effects - some of the others are pretty helpful on their own.

Enjoy this effect while you can. Digital tuners don't do this. Much line the fine sound of the needle ripping across a pice ov vinyl, it's a sound "the kids" don't understand.
