Can CE2000 convert .mp2 to .wav, or any other format?

If you need .mp2 conversion, do a search on any mainstream search engine for a program called dBPowerAmp. It has a plugin available that will do your .mp2 conversions for you (be sure to get that, too).
Best... -Jon

CEP 2.0 can also decode from MP2 by using EXTRACT FROM VIDEO.
In CEP 1.2a I used the old beta coolmp32.exe plugin to decode MP2's into WAVs. You can still find it on the net if you look hard enough, but beware, it can be most unstable.
I don't think any Syntrillium product can export to MP2 however.

I've often heard that it was unstable, and have never seen a hiccup from it. Can't say I ever used it frequently though. Would it simply crash the program?

Yep ... "restart Cool Edit to continue working"
coolmp32.exe was a funny thing. You could install it 20 times ... 10 times it would function perfectly forever and 10 times it would crash. I had it workd both ways, though generally the former.

The version which included mp3 decoding had a number of faults in the mp3 decoding engine...

I don't know if these have any relevance to mp2 - it certainly doesn't inspire confidence!
Cheers,
David.

DOH! In my first replay, I was thinking "encode mp2" instead of "decode mp2".
Decode mp2 - Easy!!! Just use Winamp. go to Options>Preferences>Plug-ins>Output>NullSoft Disk Writer plug-in>Configure to set where to store the .wavs on your hard disk. Then just "play" the mp2s, and reset the Output device to waveOut afterwards.
Alternatively, use MAD - the MPEG Audio Decoder.
