I have a voice over job (deadline), and suddenly my Cool Edit is not working right. I think it might have something to do with my settings on the computer but I'm not sure. When I hit STOP recording, the screen goes white and the sounds waves are very a wimpy black on white instead of 'green' on black screen. And my voice is soft. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, and I sure would appreciate any help. Thank you.
INFO: Soundblaster card, audio buddy, 3525 Audio Technica Mic.

Options > Settings > Colours affects the display, but why it should suddenly change I can't say, especially as you say your recording is also affected. If you haven't already (by now), reboot to see if that fixes it, and if all else fails, perhaps reinstall the software?

Hmmm... sounds like two separate things. If you stop recording by hitting the space bar, you will probably end up with the entire waveform highlighted. If you click the mouse anywhere on the waveform, does it return to normal?
As for the soft voice, how far up does the record level indicator go whilst you are recording?
