Just started using Cool Edit Pro at work. Everything I record is at a 128 Kbps bitrate. I see how a sound file can be CONVERTED to a higher bitrate, but I can't figure out how to set Cool Edit up to RECORD at 320 Kbps from the get-go.
Cool Edit seems cool to use .... it would be even cooler if I could find out how to set it up so the default recording bitrate is 320 Kpbs instead of 128 Kbps.
Hellllllllp! :O

Seems to me you need to do some reading of the manual. CEP is a .wav recorder, it doesn't work as a native MP3 device (although you can do conversions).

Techy guys can't seem to locate the manual. Instructions and manuals are always good to have ... I think anyway. Wish other people did.
Thanks for the assist.

The pdf manual is downloadable from this site - and it's mainly just a one-piece version of the help files built into the product - which hopefully your tech guys haven't contrived to delete! Basically, you will always be recording in wave format at sample frequencies and bit rates you can select at the start of your session, then when you save you can specify the overall format to convert to, with the options (eg bit rate for mp3) set by clicking the 'options' button (funny, that) in the save dialogue. But hopefully you've sorted it yourself by now. But do settle down and browse through the built-in help, including the introductory sections. Sounds like you are that way inclined anyway.
(And I hope they haven't said to you "here's a brand new piece of software, now complete this urgent project with it in the next two hours....")
