Hello.
Is there a way to import real audio files into Cool Edit Pro v2? I have some files that I find, for snips, that are in real audio format that I need to use - but obviously I can't. (or at least can't figure it out).
Thanks in advance for any advice.

The short answer is no - Real Audio don't like you to be able to do this.
There is of couse a work-around - either use Total Recorder (here) to capture Real Audio within the PC, or play it onto a MiniDisc or similar then record this back into the computer. Some soundcards can also record their own output - a third way of doing it.

Thanks for this little bit of infromation. The cost is only $12 US and I was able to read for 7 minutes and have it record the ending of Moo2 for the Moo3 BB. No problems, and it works great - thanks again.

Thank you - although I ended up re-creating the audio myself, I will use this information for the next client project.

Man Real Player or Real One is, in my humble opinion, the absolute very worst way to store, reproduce, play, or create audio, in the history of the world.

I completely agree. I don't even allow any 'Real, Inc.' products to be installed on my studio or home computers.

Funny how this is the sentiment of so many people... there have been other threads in the last few months that reveal how Real is the software/audio many of us love to hate! Welcome to the family!

Well, it is an easy application to hate. It would be a useful feature of CEP to be able to read their format and convert it to something useful (and clean it up of course).
