Im in CE2K, working with 20minutes of speech. I put all of the portions of my interview into one file. One of the pieces shows as a thick flat line, but plays fine. Only problem is that with no wave shape, it's hard to edit. How can I get back the wave view or avoid goofing up again? Thanks in advance! David T.

Zoom into that wave. It is a long in time speech portion and CE2k displays it with full zoom out, so you can' t see the wave shape

Thanks Invader. You are right!
What I don't understand is that I see 8 minutes of wave form, then a few minutes of thick flat line, then another 12 minutes of wave. If I close and re-open, it's still the same portion that is flattened out. There must be something I did to that portion of the recording when I was splicing from my original tracks. Any way to see it all?

Try deleted the associated .pk file for the wave and reopening the wave.

It seems that the 'flat line' is just at a lower volume. Does it sound at lower volume? Highlightthat portion, then amplify it to reach the volume of the rest of the wave. Hope i helped :-)

actually in the options menu, the second or third tab, you can click a button that says redraw or update waveform. I haven't used cooledit in a while, but it hapended to me and that worked to fix it. there were never any volume issues. it just turned the thick line back into the original waveform.
