Hi Declan. I'm changing my previous response. Actually, you can use /File/Append to Session to merge two sessions. Works like a charm. The other way to do this (which is much longer of a process) is to open one session, then go to Insert>Wave from File, and insert the waves from the OTHER session. Of course, they will have to be the same bit rate/sample rate. Then, do a "Save Session As" and give it a new name (and put it into a new folder). Also, you'll want to check the box labeled "Save Copies of All Associated Files"
