WWW

Personally, Audition is the only application keeping me on my Windows machine.  I'd love to switch that to Linux, or at least have the option of doing. Unfortunatly Audacity doesn't stack up to Audition, so no switching to Linux fully just as yet for me.

You could always try using a Windows Emulator such as Wine to run Audition - although I have no idea whether this would work at all!

I tried it... 1.5 works ok, 2.0 does not.  Maybe with a much jucier machine it would be ok.

Have you looked at Ardour? One major professional console manufacturer is using it as the basis of their hard disk recorder.

Cheers

Running Audition in Wine (in Linux) would be a bad idea.  It may work, and it may seem like it's working well, but you would have all kinds of latency issues, as well as hardware/software issues.  Linux has its own way of handling sound (JACK, ALSA), which is 100% different from Windows.  If you really want to run a Linux box (and I don't blame you), check out Ardour.
