Trademark latency crackling AFTER i freeze tracks ...what the ?

 Hi kids,
          Now I have been live jamming just fine through a chain of fx ( one a resource hog ) and then i decide that i want to lock the tracks fx on a recording.

 I go to play back the track and its crackling !!! That doesnt make sense that after I locked it its crackling !

Have you tried unlocking the track, and then freezing it again?  If so, does it still crackle?

Yep, I have tried that.

 I have had 2.0 for a while but this is one reason I went back to using 1.0

 Finally I thought I should get some advice.


( I also have 1 gig ram and have disabled just about all other start up software espesh anti virus )

The crackle could possibly have been introduced prior to the recording on account of the list of effects and the soundcard can't process the signal quick enough. Try recording with less effects, add them on in Audition and then lock the track. Also, lock all other tracks (if you've got effects on them as well) before recording to free things up.

 Hey ADC, yeah  that compromise did seem to fix my drama, i am still trying stuff out. I always lock all tracks prior to recording, but its annoying that i cant run the whole mix through the izotope multiband to give me more punch to groove to.
