Ok i totally messed up all my settings for the sake of poking around. Now every time i press record and minumize my AA to goto my notepad the recording stops.

On top of that every time I record on a track, the default settings would then replace the old wave with the new wave thus still having only one wave on that same track.

But now everytime i press on lets say, Track 1 and record, it would create a new wave on top of whatever that was there before. So as long as I keep on pressing recording for that same track it would stack one over the other.

I try reinstalling the program but nothing happen. Is there a way I can reset everything back to the old settings?

Should be solved by unticking "Release ASIO driver in background" in the Audio Hardware Setup window.

For the other problems I wouldn't know what to do. Perhaps the best thing you can do is manually remove the Audition installation according to this Adobe article: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=332239. After that, you can install Audition again.

Isn't that just the standard punch-in recording feature?  I only just got to try it out in earnest on the weekend, and (despite recalling lots of complaints here about it) I really like it.

Isn't that just the difference in Punch In between Audition 1.5 and Audition 2?

IIRC, the complaints aren't about the way it works, but what it does with the fallout - or more to the point, what it doesn't do with it. It assumes (incorrectly in a lot of cases) that you want to keep every take; even the ones you blew your nose in, and when the doorbell went, etc. It would appear that most people would rather not keep them all that crap that they haven't used, and the arrangements for handling this situation - well, basically they don't exist. Hence the clever workaround that was posted on Fort Knox the Adobe forum. Considering that it doesn't touch the app at all, it's almost elegant, in fact.
